That's not something very many people are willing to do. I'm about 600 pages into Roberto Bolaño's 2666 –a book that is both horrible and hypnotic, one of the few Bolaño works I've been able to finish (Amuleto was the other one). 2666 is a monstrous novel, in every conceivable way. 2666, a novel by Chilean writer, Roberto Bolano, was published posthumously in 2004. The wide ranging geography and time frame of 2666 defy easy summary. For the past week, I have been walking around, trying to think of what — finally — to say about Roberto Bolaño's novel, 2666. Even the critical praise is monstrous, from the 2008 National Book Critics Circle Award to Time's Best Fiction Book of the same year. There is something about it in this novel that made it feel at times more real than real and more true than life itself.
